1990 240 non turbo with high compression readings

Post by akkevint »

I recently Purchased a 1990 Volvo purchased a 1990 Volvo 240 sedan. And cylinders 12 and three I had PSI rating of 195 and in the number and cylinders 1,2,3 I had PSI rating of 195 and then the number 4 cylinder I had 200 psi reading.

Any thoughts out there about why these are so high. Maybe cat converter is plugged up?

Any comments welcomed.

From what I read this may be the result of excessive buildup of carbon deposits on the piston top and/or combustion chamber. Normal for B230F is 130 to 160 psi.
