I recently have this issue with these electric door mirror that only moves in one direction. It started up with the right door mirror that used to flip down when I switch to reverse but won't move back to regular position after I shift back to drive. But later I disabled this auto flip feature and it still has a hard time moving up. I tried to use my finger to give it an extra push so it moves better but on itself it will not move up. It only moves a bit at a time and the problem has got worse since then.
So i thought i should just leave it like that but two days ago the same thing starting to happen to my left mirror too.
I think it's unlikely that the mechanism for both mirror failed at the same time so it's gotta be some computer thing that went wrong. 
But these cars have bunch of tiny chips and i don't know where to start. Therefore i brought it to the dealership and they told me it's a $1500 dollar fix without telling me in detail what is going on. i think this is a ripoff and I hope someone may have the same problem can help. Please and thank you all!!! 
Btw, the mirror moves perfectly fine in left, right and down directions. it only struggles when moving up.
