Ignition switch doesn't recognize removal of key
Ignition switch doesn't recognize removal of key
I have a problem related to the ignition tumbler, though somewhat unique based on what I can find on previous discussion about the ignition tumbler. The switch doesn't register the key being removed. Everything works properly and easily with the tumbler, except the car still dings when the door is open even when the key has been removed. Suspect this might affect the door locks and possibly cause a slow battery drain. Anyone else have this issue and if so is there something to be done besides replacing the entire ignition tumbler?

Try a shot of silicon spray in the key, but you are right, you have to get this fixed, ultimately
