Shorted turn indicator wire, fixed but still not working

Post by SGV70 »

2008 v70, indicator wires in RH headlight assembly shorted.
Fixed the wires but no right side indicators front and back, mirror one is working.
Emergency lights only operate left side and right mirror.
No warnings on dash
Fuse is common to both sides, where do I look next?

I assume you checked the fuse. Did you check wires for short and/or power? If those pass look at the bulbs.

Transistorized power supply with overcurrent protection. Disconnect batt negative cable and then hold it to the pos cable to drain capacitors to assure module memory is dumped. Hold for 10 seconds. Then reconnect and see if it functional again. 2005 and later can have this happen on many circuits in lighting. It showed up concurrent with 13V power supply limiting to bulbs for longer bulb life.
