Suspension: Lesjofors vs Volvo Coil Spring

Post by cn90 »

I need to rebuild the whole front end...Been there done that with my 1998 S70 and 1998 BMW 528i...

Anyway question re brand (Lesjofors $69, Volvo $140):
- Lesjofors 30648139 is the FRONT coil spring. Apparently Lesjofors is supposed to be the OEM supplier for Volvo.
Can someone confirm this?
- Volvo OEM is expensive but if people tell me this is better than I guess I need to buy Volvo spring.

I would suggest you do them in pairs. If you are going to do only one source a used part w similar miles.

If you do both new, go with the cheaper option.

Out of curiosity, something wrong with the coils? And is your car natively a 32 front spring?

Not sure if this is already well known but you can find the detail on how your car was built on the black label behind the passenger side B-pillar (for earlier years it’s still the metal embossed plate under the hood). Can see this post- https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthrea ... sion-parts as one example.
For front springs, 3 flavors are offered (31/32/33) as far as I’ve been able to gather. I have 31 in my 2005 2.5T, 33 in my 2008 V8 Sport.

Did not mean to hijack your thread but wanted to ask. I’ve not seen many 32 front springs noted on the XC90 forums but perhaps I was not paying attention.

Re 31 vs 32 vs 33.

Does anyone know how I can find the correct Front spring for my 2005 XC90?
In other words, how do I know I need 31 vs 32 vs 33?

For earlier models (no idea when this changes), it's on a metal plaque on top of driver side fender IIRC. Same info as the black label noted above, laid out a little differently.
