1999 V70 N.A. transmission swap

I replaced the coolant damaged original AW 50-42LE ( cracked pipe in radiator end tank ) with another from the same year S70, unfortunately that 50-42 also had issues ( water intrusion from improper storage ) which were not initially apparent until installed so I now have to re and re again, found another AW 50-42 I can pull from a 1998 NA S70 and want to confirm compatibility. I believe the only possible difference would be the two sensors on top of the transmission?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They are interchangeable as long as they are both AW50-42.
If you are talking about speed sensor...they are the same from '96-'99(including '99).The difference was for early 850 up to '96.

Thank you for verifying this - I was pretty well certain they would be interchangeable but was not quite sure abut the sensors.

I used an 850 AW-50-42 from a 1995 model in a 1999 V70 afew years ago. The transmission select lever must be swapped out as well as the sensors and PNP. Otherwise all should be the same if they are both from a NA version.

The final drive may be different in a turbo so best to stick with like for like here.
