2005 XC70 Fuel Pressure Sensor anchillery parts Topic is solved

So I had some stalling, got it scanned as the Fuel Pressure Sensor, symptoms fit. I've got my hands on the replacement part and the tutorials on how to replace it (bleed the rail via the valve on the left then replace the part after lubricating the O ring, catch spilling fuel.) But I'm not sure about the specifics on the zip tie/fir tree mount thing-anyone know how to find a replacement that will fit the hole in the new part? Also what type of grease to use on the O ring. The forums said to use Vaseline (which is of course white petroleum) but FPC's tutorial said emphatically not to use a petroleum based lube, but rather a synthetic one. Will just anything labeled "synthetic grease" work or is there a preferred type?

You can use a cable tie if the push clip strips to hold wire. A rag will catch all the fuel that escapes. If the engine has been off 1/2 or more there is no need to do anything but put a rag under the area to catch what little fuel, maybe 2 ounces, that will be lost. I'd spray the o ring with WD40 or anything close. I have used motor oil on that o ring and had the same part out later and saw no ill effects. It just needs something to lube it so o ring is not bound up or cut inserting the sensor into end of rail.

Wait, so can those push clips be pressed back out? I was under the impression that I'd have to slice open the zip tie portion to remove the sensor from the wire. I've definitely got some fresh motor oil lying around so I'll just use that. Thanks!

Whelp, so far so good. The oil let the new part slipped on fine, and the lack of fuel leakage indicates that the O ring wasn't broken in the process. It's been idling at a more consistent RPM and hasn't starved the engine on the highway, and the CEL has cleared (though that only turned on when the engine very starved.) Thanks for the advice!
