1994 Volvo 960 sedan won't shift back to park

I did the pnp switch replacement and now my gear selector won’t shift back to park. It gets stuck at revers and won’t go any farther. When I move it to park it locks, but it still goes in reverse. Any help?

Did you adjust the shifter with the transmission and shifter both in Park? I think the proper way would be to do the shifter adjustment with both in neutral.

Hey I have a similar situation expect I didn’t do a repair mine just won’t shift into park what ended up being wrong with yours?

240 Volvos had a plastic clip in the transmission linkage that would age and crumble. The 960 may have the same type part and problem.
