Heading to the upull tomorrow where there are a couple of 98's. Actually, it's the seat belt retractors I need.

I know that most of the parts I'd be interested in will cross over to my 850's, not sure about those two items.

I'm questioning the steering wheel not because of the spline, I'm sure it would bolt up. I'm wondering about the horn and SRS connections. Why would I want another steering wheel?

If there's a really nice GLT style I would swap it into my base 96 855.

Not sure about electricals and bolt ups of 98 seatbelts onto 850 mounts.

My visit to the 98 answered my question: the horn pad/bag of the 98 wheel and general design of everything in that area look different enough that I'll assume it wouldn't be a direct swap. That one has a key, too.

The seat belt looked threadbare so I passed on that, too.

It did donate some other goodies with yet more to come.

The second time I looked at it, was less interested. I'm glad to know that, though, as I guess the other 60+ viewers of this post are too.

The one I really wanted was in a 95 GLT with low miles that I came across last winter. That wheel was a beauty, but there was no key so it went to the crusher.

The seat belt mounts are different between the 70 series and the 850s. They can be modified to fit but it is not a small task.

850's are becoming scarce around here. But for some things I guess I'll need to wait for them show up at the end of the line.
