Intermittent nearside low beam

Post by DaveH38 »

i have had a 2005 xc70 from new and its been a fantastic car , but recently I have been getting a warning message of " dip beam bulb failure ". The bulb was found to be ok so I cleaned all the contacts and refitted it . This seemed to cure the fault - for a while - then it happened again . It appears to be when I switch the ignition on , sometimes the warning message comes on and sometimes its ok so I am now leaning toward the relay which I understand controls the nearside low beam . Has anyone had similar problems , if so how do I find the relay and where do I obtain a relacement . Dave

I have an 01 and the "bulb failure dipped beam" warning light flashes intermittently but all headlights are working. Anyone have any ideas?

I've had low beam failure warning for a year. Perfectly working lights. I've changed to Xenox H55w and the warning remains.
Bugs the heck out of me.
Sorry to hear it happens to others.
