2002 V70 X/C front door tweeter

Post by Mike Langlois »

Greetings all,
Does anyone know the size of the mounting hole for the front door tweeter? The car has door panels that contain 2 speaker grills/holes: 6.5" below and a smaller grill/ hole for the tweeter in the upper door pull. Trying to find the tweeter hole diameter without pulling off the door panel (just yet). Mike

I bought a set of Focal AS165s with included tweeters and they were too big and ended up above on the small black plastic piece by the mirror. It could probably have worked with a bit of cutting but I didn't feel like it

This V70 is getting a premium stereo upgrade. New head unit, amplifier, speakers, back up camera and I found a sub woofer that fits in the spare tire; like the stock unit! Tweeters are 1.75" in diameter and I am hoping I do not have to exchange them for smaller units in order to install them behind the stock grills. They will fit in the rear pillars with a little coaxing.

Drop the tweeters in the rear pillars completely and you'll improve the sound stage a bit.

I'm sure you can fit them in the doors with a bit of cutting and gluing.
