Hesitation on WOT (V70 2.0 T5 AWD 1997)

Post by Fiodor »

Another topic today :)
I'm having an issue with a slight hesitation around 4500 RPM when going WOT in 2nd and 3rd gear (haven't had the opportunity to try in 4th and 5th haha).
Do you know how I should proceed to troubleshoot this issue ?
Thanks a bunch !

Edit :
I have replaced :
-Spark Plugs
-IPD HD TCV + the associated vacuum lines
-Distributor rotor and cap

I've never changed the fuel filter and I've been running E85 for 5000 km.
The car has 240000km on it

Don't think so, I'm not the original owner but I couldn't find any trace of a change...

Hesitation at WOT could be from large vacuum leak.
What spark plugs did you use?

Denso IK20TT as some people in France suggested using Iridium Plugs in association with E85.
How could I go about finding a large vacuum leak ?

Turbo engines don't quite like fancy spark plugs.
You would need OE Volvo plugs (set of 5)for turbo engines or at least cheap Bosch or Ngk,single prong, properly gapped.
Gap is critical for turbo engines.
Don't be surprised if those iridium Denso are the source of your problems.

OK so I filled my tank with sp95 and nothing has changed.
In 4th gear it feels as if my acceleration is "toothed".
I'll try with OEM plugs as soon as I'm back in my city.

No pending codes too?
