This year my driver side leather seat skins were replaced due to being torn. My leather looked great all these years using Armor All. Well the new genuine Volvo skins are softer than the rest which are 15 years old. Lexol is crap as well as everything sold in stores for leather as far as my hardening seats testified...
After doing some homework I decided to order off of Amazon Obenauf's leather oil. It came today and I did a test area a couple hours ago on the back seat. You put it on thick with the applicator ball inside the bottle. It's like honey. At first it looked horrible with dark lines like fine cracks. I just went out and the leather absorbed the product completely dry and the leather feels soft and very supple. Just like the new Volvo leather up front. I have never seen a product that works like this!!!!! It's a must if your leather is hardened and looks good still.
Wasted so much money recently on crap products from the parts store and Walmart to be nothing but dissatisfied as no change in leather softness occurred until this product. It's profound! June

So today I have now applied the leather oil for the third time. The leather absorbs it like a dry sponge. The old leather is becoming amazingly supple. While the leather is wet with the product it looks scary with all sorts of dark cracks. Then when I come back later and it has been absorbed the leather looks great with a matte finish. The new leather driver seat is still wet with the first coat interesting enough. June

This is Wednesday day four after applying the leather oil. I applied three heavy coats on last Saturday on all the original leather. The seats are amazingly softer and the product gives a light scent of new leather. Seats are long dry as all the oil was absorbed on Sunday. Today the car sat in the morning sun for the first time after applying the oil and heat seems to have made the leather softer. This product is simply amazing! I took some photos of the leather today so see for yourself! June

Hi June, thanks for sharing this. I've been contemplating what product to get, because both of our V70's need a good leather treatment. The seats are still in reasonably good shape, so I want to preserve them and make them supple again.

For the first 14 years i used Armor all wipes and the finish stayed nice. But after the new leather driver seat was installed i realized the rest was stiffening. My seats have seen family use and 172K plus hot Florida sun.
Don't forget to use the Amazon link for MVS if you know how and report your experience. I spent hundreds over the last couple of months at Walmart and Discount Auto parts trying every product for leather as well as the $80 kit from Volvo to no avail until this product. I hope my experiments help save others Volvo seats from destruction. June

June, interesting, thanks for the post. My '15 V60 has the same color leather and looks fine right now. Keep the car garaged and under a car cover when outside (those only last 2 years here in FL!) Have wiped the leather down a couple times with (first time) Weiman leather wipes and the last time with the Lexol wipes... might as well use the rest of them... Good info on the Obenauf's leather oil--saved to my wish list!

This is Saturday and though no additional oil has been added since the three initial applications last Sunday the softness/pliability of the leather is better than Wednesday when I last updated. The surface is dry to the touch so obviously this product continues to work internally below the surface. No other product did this. I will take photos at the next application because while the product is wet on the surface the dark lines and cracks appear like the leather is ruined. Then a few hours later they disappear with the product.
If anyone else tries this product I am curious if you get the same results. June

Update: For weeks the oil worked below the surface as the the leather became softer to the touch. I decided to reapply today. So I took a picture of the dark looking cracks that appear while the leather is wet with the product. When absorbed they disappear and the leather looks great. I can't get over how wonderful this product works! I will post pics tomorrow after this is absorbed.
Also I love the long lasting new leather light scent! When I applied weeks ago for the first time there were way more dark cracks. So don't be freaked if lots of dark cracks appear when applying this product. June
