I've been reading up on this t5 oil issue, and now question why my oil dipstick on my 2012 s60, fwd has been tagged with red tape. I purchased this car used ,from a volvo dealership, in October, 2014, and was serviced by them until the warranty ran out in this last year. I did stumble upon a statement made by someone in some site somewhere that mentioned what a red dipstick or tagged red from volvo meant but now i cannot find it.
Maybe it was on this site, but, does anyone know? I spent hours yesterday, including this site, trying to find that comment.

Dipstick color on a Volvo corresponds with the oil capacity. Back in the '90s Volvo changed the oil pan on the white blocks to a slightly higher capacity. Changing the color of the dipstick also, enabled the service techs to tell one capacity from the other at a glance.
