Take it one step at a time

First 12V power (should only be present at the White wire)
- Key off engine off - a relay should disconnect the 12V and you should measure 0 volts (confirmed)
- Key on engine off - 12 Volts should be present at white wire (confirmed)
- Key on engine off - with the connector removed from the sensor only the white wire should be 12V (confirmed)

Next 5V power (one of the remaining wires should be 5V with the key on engine off)
- Key on engine off - 5V present Confirmed #4 Blue/Grey

Then confirm ground present from ECM
- Key on Engine off - Pin 3 or Pin 5 are very close to battery Voltage with Volt meter from B+ to the Pin (One of these is the Ground)

The remaining two pins should be the signal from the MAF and the signal from temperature sensor

Based on your measurements I don't see 12 Volts on anything except the white wire.

It looks like you have it connected correctly

MAF/IAT sensor description from the manual

Thanks

it looks like the middle wire yellow one is giving off 9.v with that wire plugged in I get p0103 maf circuit high input with the yellow wire unplugged I get p0100 maf circuit malfunction, I can clear the code start the car it sounds great 3 or 4 minutes later csr surges at idle put it in drive sounds fine, do a restart and car stalls till I clear the code again I guess it runs fine while the code is pending once confirmed doesn't run so if I plug the blu/gry wire into the middle post the maf should work but the iat would then code right what makes the 5v ref send 9v... and by the way thanks for all the help

A "really good mechanic" tells me he has several time run into MAF problems where the reference voltage from the ECU is 12 volts instead of 4.98 V (say 5). Hopefully resetting the ECU will do it.
I'm having a well-running (below 40 mph) 740T bucking and (apparently) shutting down the injectors (which is only supposed to happen at full power) when I goose the throttle while cruising. He (the mechanic) said to check for this reference voltage to see if it's the problem. I am currently looking for the MAF pin-out for a '92 Bosch MAF.
