2006 XC90 won't start

Post by emajen9 »

Good morning, I have a 2006 XC90 5 cyl turbo. I just had timing belt water pump replaced by mechanic. During the test drive he noticed that the check engine light was on and the tranny seemed funny and the car did have a TCM code. He referred me to a tranny shop. The car ran fine but seemed to start in a high gear and not shift. I got home and did an online search and found the TCM was right by the timing belt cover. Hoping to find something obvious I disconnected the battery, removed the ECM and TCM, sprayed the connections with an appropriate cleaner, and replaced them. Now the car turns over for about three seconds and stops. I have tried charging the battery without success. It seems the ECM is not allowing it to start; I know that is possible, but would it allow it to turn over at all? Could my charger be bad? what am I missing?
