Speed wagon checklist

Post by e13h »

Below are the upgrades that I have narrowed the plan down to, through all the forums this seems to be what everyone agrees on but I’m not sure if they’ll all work together, specifically the remap and the rip kit. If anyone could throw some advice on the table I’d appreciate it.

ARD will write the tune to take into account the rip kit, and whatever else you've got.

I don't have one, but it's hard for me to imagine the RIP kit is anywhere near worth the money it costs. I'd skip it and get some handling upgrades instead - good tires, dampers, anti-roll, etc.

It’s a 1995 850 turbo, Ive brought it to stage zero but it’s an automatic and even with a auxiliary trans fluid cooler 300 hp should be plenty

Automatic transmissions on these cars are capable and designed for 300+hp!

Really? Almost everything I’ve read said 300 is pushing it without the auxiliary trans fluid cooler and even then it’s a stretch

Yep...really! ;)
If it's in good shape it will be ok....if it's on the way out...it will brake...even with stock set-up.

Misha: The big question is, how do you know if it's okay or in good shape if it's shifting properly under normal use?

For example....no codes or proper shifting in ALL circumstances...no leaks.
Basic things.
Good auto trans will not fail out of the blue....1st symptoms are poor shifting, not shifting properly...staying in the gear longer than usual, stumble under kick down situation...etc.
