Greetings all!
I will need to replace the fiberglass moulded part that extends from one headlight assembly to the other, but I don't know what it is called or better, how it is identified. Can anyone help me on this? In the photo below, the part with the yellow "Warning" label is my current conundrum!
Also, is it necessary to remove the front bumper to extract all the bolts holding this part in?
Appreciate any and all replies!

I had to replace that same part in my S70, and had the same problem with finding the name. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any notes about what it is called! This page says "Front Section", but I believe there is a better name for it: https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/prod ... 51650.html
I was able to remove/replace without taking off the bumper itself. IIRC you can use a long ratcheting 10mm box-end wrench to get the bolts behind the bumper.

Hi Joe,
Thank you for your reply!!! And the link to the website showing the part number, etc.!!
I will likely replace this in the spring, but will be going to the salvage yard a few times before then and in case I do find one that isn't cracked, I'd like to know what I'm talking about to the yard technicians (!!) and of course, to hopefully get a decent price on the part since it's not indicated on any yard price lists I have come across. Gosh, these parts are expensive brand new!
Thanks again and have a nice day!

I call it the slam panel (kind of obvious name). There is probably some other name for it and Volvo is bound to have a weird name for it too.
Remove the sidelights, headlights and headlight wiper arms if fitted.
C/V/S 70's are a little tougher due to the front bumper and the 3 lower bolts for the panel being behind there.
Behind the 2 sidelights there are 2 10mm bolts to remove, as well as the 3 others mentioned. There are also either 2 8mm or 10mm bolts that have to be removed from the back of the panel where the radiator fan attaches.
If I recall you also have to remove some clips holding the hood release cable that runs to the RHS as well.
Place a couple of layers of Duct tape under the leading edges for the fenders otherwise trying to remove the panel will damage the paint on the undersides.
I think that was all. Removing the front bumper does make it easier, but you will have to remove 2 usually very rusted and reluctant bolts from the underside of the bumper, as well as drilling the rivets out of the fender liners where they attach to the bumper.
Good Luck.
Neil.
