Transmission in line filters

Post by PoppySheaf »

2008 XC90

I'm swapping the tranny in a few weeks and have thought above installing one of these in-line magnet filters.

I read another post in here of someone who did. In these photos the connection to the filter are screw type clamps which are not made for any hose with significant pressure as the original lines appear to be high pressure type hoses when looking at the end connectors. I'm hesitant to use a screw clamp.

I would think a "micromatic" like in this photo would be better suited, yet, on the other hand the filter barbs are plastic and could be crushed.

Any thoughts from anyone on this.
