Making an 850 go fast

Post by Damo »

Ok, new hear so go easy :D
Im looking for suggestions on performance upgrades to a non turbo 850. Putting a turbo is not an option as the race rules will not allow me too. I must use a Volvo 5 cylinder block. Appart from that all engine mods are free as is ecu and gearbox. I will state again I can NOT use a turbo. I would lime to acheive 250hp. Over boaring and stroking can also be done. Engine swaps can be done too, provided its Volvo 5 cylinder block.
Thnks

Check with Viva Performance. I think their work is primarily with turbocharged engines, but they might be of some help. 250 HP can easily be achieved, just a matter of budget. Good Luck !!

Stage 0, and add weight reduction. Like this viewtopic.php?f=6&t=88115

960 throttle body upgrade.

Get rid of the catalytic converter and run the exhaust straight back.

Port and polish intake.

There might be cams available to dig out more power, or adjusting timing on the one you have.

Cold air intake.

R exhaust manifold.
