Hello, my blowerfan recently died so i decided to replace it. I fabricated my own tool from volvoswedens schematics.
It all went fine until it was time to twist the fan free. Its completly stuck, it does not move a millimeter. I broke the weld on my tools handle, rewelded it and then i just bent the handle to pieces.
It feels like the fan is welded togheter to its placeholder. Why cant i brake it loose? I've been struggling with this step the last 5 hours. I cant wrap My mind around why its stuck.
I've maken sure that There is no screw beside the plastic tab holding it. And the tab is pressed down completly.
Anyone experienced this or have any idea why and how to solve it?

Have you broke off the locking tab that is on the side accessible from the cavity after removing the instrument panel? Look at your new part to see the locking tab. Really study that new part to understand how it locks. I do not see how you locking tab is retracted on its own. Old fan so break off the tab on the fan motor so it cannot give you a problem. You do not want to damage the heater box the fan is mounted to. Big money and big labor to fix that.
Re: Blowerfan completly stuck in its holder
I finally got it of. Had to cut away the "fanturbine" and clamp a weldingclamp to the motor, then put another clamp on the first clamps handle 90 degrees. Then i got enough force to brake it loose. It was on extremly tight. There was a lot of dust from the bearings, that might have hade a negative impact on the friction.
The new fan went on without a sweat using my Tool.

I hope the inventor of this fan retention method finds himself with raging diarrhea in a restroom and the toilet paper is dispensed in such a manner.
