Used 02volvo s60 2.4L Turbo Transmission fluid change Q/A

I have a 2002 VOLVO S60 2.4L TURBO That i bought used and havent changed the Transmission fluid because i was told they had done it already.

I have had the car maybe 2months and never noticed any transmission issues until today....

The car when i accelerated from a stop light did some rough jerking and then very sluggish to accelerate and I i did get the text message about servicing transmission for the first time today...

Plus check engine light ...

I dont know what type of fluid is in it now and i want to do the drain 3 qts and fill it ...

But since i have no idea what transmission fluid is in it im nervous about adding new transmission fluid to it..

I hope i have the right tranny fluid for my car its sythetic oil from oriellys part store ...

Can this hurt my transmission if i add just the 3quarts to whatever is in it ...

I have no idea what to do and have to be at work in the morning....

There are many different types so slow down and get the right one. Transmissions aren’t cheap and replacing them isn’t cheap either. Is work so important today it’s worth a $4000 bill?

I scanned the owners manual for the 2002 S60 but the ATF type wasn’t specified. Let one of the experts here guide you to the right type before you dump the wrong stuff in

If you go to FCP and put your year and model in, then click on fluids, they will tell you the right stuff, too.
