VIDA resets after Tranny swap.

Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo XC90s. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America).

The only thing I'm reusing is the TCM.

Agree. Also - just my experience - good to keep in mind that the results may not be perfect, mine still behaves a little weird when cold in winter days, until it warms up - but once warmed up I am so glad I did the relearn in Vida.

Don't forget to reset the adaptations during a warm summer day so the fluid can reach the minimum temperature (I believe 60C) for the adaptation relearn to engage. The relearn procedure is sometimes misunderstood, I'm showing a few points at the end of this video basically you will want to drive in such way to have the yellow triangle light up at ALL upshifts and downshifts (also the garage relearn for D and R engagement). I found this very long because no matter what I could not got a few shifts to light the triangle. I guess following the 'up to that speed' procedure doesn't always work. Good to remember - as soon as the engine is shut off (when parking it for example) the whole learning procedure ends and if it wasn't completed, will need to do it all over again.

Just doing some more research today.

Not sure my symptoms follow the Volvo client complaints regarding the valve body ive been reading about across all Volvo sites. (Mine happens between 3/4 ( sometimes 2/3) shuddering but only when at full operating temp and after 15/ 20 mins of driving and only at part throttle or under slight load uphill. Not noticeable during spirited driving at all)

What symptoms specifically are related to a torque convertor? Shuddering on upshifts?
