S80 2009 4-cyl. vibrations

Just exchanged my thrusty S 80 2.4 from 1998 for a newer 2-litre 2008 one, only to discover that it shows a lot more vibrations.
Typically at 3500 revs,even at tickover when cold. I am used to the sweet 5-cyl. engine. Is this normal?

Hi, seeing you are in Europe, would this be a diesel engine? Issues would perhaps be with the vacuum engine mounts, but rather try asking on an European forum, as diesel engines were not available here in North America. http://volvoforums.org.uk/ is a very good forum with helpful people

No it's a petrol one. But one would think it to be a diesel one... I am changing all the engine mounting rubbers.
