Sorry, that's really tough. Keys are not cheap and I assume you don't have a spare?
Replacement keys have to be programmed by the dealer which is not cheap either. I'd suggest you try to reach out to get the keys back with a reward, but you would be lucky to contact the person who took them.

Good luck.

Tow to dealer

I feel Yagger can do it over Dice you might save some money but it’s syill a $3-400 affair

Poster had just joined MVS, was at a Starbucks, and had no money. I initially thought scam.

This makes me nervous too.I actually can afford new keys, but I really would rather not have to. The local hardware store has a good key machine, they think they can copy the physical part of the key no problem. What if I hid the "real" key someplace under the dash for the code to be read and used the copies as my keys?

That will work , and is the cheap way to keep running in low theft areas.

You can drop the plastic cover under the wheel ( 3 T20 I think) and just tapethe key with good transponder there, out of sight

We leave our keys in our cars most nights, so that does work for us.

I put Tiles in my keys as we have multiple drivers, like 8, soon to 9 with 88 YO Mom in the T5 stick

I can't imagine anyone stealing an old Volvo, but I have insurance if they do.

My car will absolutely not let me lock the doors with a key in the ignition, not with another remote fob.. not by using another key in the outside door lock (it just pops back up/unlocks)..not by pushing the lock button on the door before closing the door.. If that 'denial to lock the car' function is tied to the CEM being able to read a key transponder (if it sees one, the only allowable way to lock the car is with the button on the door with the door shut)... then the idea of hiding a programmed key/transponder chip near the antenna ring might be a problem.
