1998 V70 NA

Need to change O-ring and seal on lower (output) auto trans fluid cooler line. If I were to not drain at the trans, but instead removed the lower cooler line at the radiator, it would seem that I would only lose, maybe, 2 quarts of fluid. Might I be correct? And, any reason why this might be a really stupid idea?

Look closely at the bottom line, you will find that it is downhill to the sump. There should be very little ATF in the radiator with a cold engine.

Once you start the engine, there will be close to a quart of ATF in the radiator and lines, I do not know how fast the ATF will flow back into the sump after shut off.
