Hi all,
I'm replacing both LCAs and ball joints on my '04 S60, and was wondering if anyone had insight to the hardware required. I'm getting all Lemforder LCAs and Ball joints, and Febi steering stops:

1x https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... t-30635230
2x https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... s60-xc70-2
2x https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... r-31212191
Correct me if I'm wrong, but i need the following hardware:
2x https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... c70-985226
1x https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... olt-987456 for the right LCA
1x https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 105-987455 for the left LCA
Which knuts do I need? Do they have to be from Volvo? If not, which size/metal should I get from the hardware store?
Thanks

Looks like you're all set up! I would use genuine nuts and bolts.
You'll need
2x Self locking M14 nut 985660 for both LCA rear bolts
2 x M12 987455 for both LCA
2 x M12 987456 for both LCA
And possibly a tool to sit the ball joints properly

I need 2 of 987455 and 2 of 987456? So my assumptions in my post were wrong then? I thought I needed 4 bolts total: 2x 985226, and then the two horizontal ones looked like (from research on fcp and ipd) they were different sizes for left and right side. Do I need 2x 987456 for the RIGHT side, and 2x 987455 for the LEFT side? So it's 6 bolts total (2x 985226, 2x 987456, 2x 987455) ? And then do I need 6 nuts (985660) too?Antoine240bk wrote: ↑10 Mar 2019, 14:58

Yes, Bolts have different length on the front, 1x 987455 and 1x 987456 for one LCA. So 2 of those for each side. Bolts on the front screws on the lower control arm directly.
1 x M14 nut for the rear bolt 985226 in one LCA, you'll need two nuts.

If it happen that you plan to work the ball joint on the bench, take measurement of the shocks on the spindle knuckle to keep the camber right. AND take great care with the passenger axle, to not extent the axle.

Thanks Antoine for your help and patience. Are you sure the two different horizontal bolts aren't for individual sides? (not one for front of each, one for back of each?) Here are some images from IPD, which i take to mean that both 987455 are for only the LEFT control arm, and both 987456 are only for the RIGHT control arm
Here's for 987455: and for 987456:

No hardware store stuff on these, please. You need the real hardware from Volvo.

Have you got all the torque specs? On the V70, very similar suspension, the specs are written like
Torque to...xxx Nm
Then 90 degree tighten.
