Bring ignition switch from position 1 back to 0

Post by q1t »

The other morning I approached my 2008 S40 T5 AWD and couldn't unlock it by pressing the button on the remote-key. When I opened the door using the metal key (hidden inside the main remote) I expected to hear the alarm go off - but the car stayed silent. I popped the hood - the battery was intact. Then, just when I wanted to insert the key into ignition I realized that the switch was in position 1, not 0. Now I can't insert the key into ignition.

I assume there was an attempt (unsuccessful) to hijack the car.

Any advice on how to bring the ignition back to 0 position? :|
