intermittent low beam headlight issues

Post by hu5ker555 »

2008 S60 2.5T 188K

Has anyone else had issues with their low beam headlight sockets? A couple times a year (maybe coincident with the changing weather?) my low beam headlights stop working. The bulbs are fine. If I unplug the bulb and insert some tin foil down into the socket, then put the bulb back in, they work for the next several months. Until I have to do it again.

Anyone else run into something like this?

Bought the ceramic versions on amazon. There are only two wires in the ceramics (one on either side/terminal) but there are three on my OEMs (one on one terminal, two on the other terminal). Assuming I can just wire the two up to one side/terminal as in the OEM. Will put them in and report back.
