My stage 0 is almost complete, when I pull the motor "hopefully here in a few weeks" I'll finish it with a new timing belt and new fluids all around. Can I put a 15g output turbine on my 13g? This way I could have quicker spool an maybe more boost?? I have never had one of these turbos off and apart yet.

There is a good turbo rebuild file in the VRD here on MVS - pictures etc. No idea if the turbines transpose, etc.

FWIW, I just picked up a rebuilt & balanced 16T off eBay for $300.

I'm going to be doing a similar upgrade to my old beast (2000 V70XC 2.4 LPT):

-16T
-Blue injectors
-Tune probably from Hilton Tuning or VAST, looking for like a Stage 1.5
-do88 intercooler
-Mototec downpipe & cat

Already have TME dual exhaust, Snabb intake and RIP kit, IPD filter.

My engine is old, but clean and strong. The plan is to get a tune to keep boost in low teens, at a safe level. The 13T LPT is decently quick off the line, but personally I don't like jamming it from stops. I prefer stronger power in the mid-range and up, like accelerating from 30ish thru 70 etc.

I like Ed's chosen route.

OP you could pick up 15g or 16t, white or blue injectors (they are the functionally the same), bigger downpipe (optional), and tune all within your suggested budget, and be ready to go.

Abscate's listed cost on the turbo is high, Ed's is more typical. I do;t think it is practical/plausible to switch/mix the turbo parts.

You can also get a new compressor wheel and housing from ARD, Kinugawa, or a number of other companies to convert your 13G to a "bigger" TD04HL turbo. They all share the same turbine and center assembly. You'll want a rebuild kit while you're in there.

It's not a hard job, but getting the turbo out to do the work is tedious and the snap ring on the compressor housing really needs a good pair of snap ring pliers.
