There are two V70 projects in my area, one for $500, the other $600. One needs engine work, the other needs a new tranny. I'm trying to convince the missus that we need a wagon, but she says only if I ditch another project already in progress.

Long time married guy tip....

"But I vowed not to do that when we married" is a poor strategic answer here.

I take it bribery did not work? If she is a practical woman, try selling her on the convenience factor having a utilitarian wagon around. If there is one thing we like, its convenience! Oh and A/C    June

I am already over budget on the projects in progress, getting another one would only make it more difficult to keep up with all the needed repairs. Currently we have three people in the household, one of whom is still only on learner's permit, and five vehicles between all of us. The E39 BMW sedan is currently on my $hitlist, it may be the first in line to go back on the market.

We have one finely tuned Bavarian Money Waster in our fleet - we have been lucky with it, and SWMBO likes it except she can't shift.

They can be fine pieces of machinery effortlessly converting money into anger - like finding out

"The airbag covers all models of the E83 except those built during your month. 6 years except your month.

"Did you use a different airbag then?"

No.

WTF?
