XC90 V8 Driver Side Rear Axle Removal! Help!

I just got done replacing the seal on my passenger side rear axle and getting that axle out was easy because the passenger side went up to the differential and not actually in it. I am now trying to get the driver side out but the inner part goes into the differential a short distance and I cant seem to get anything inside it to pop the retention clip loose. I have everything apart and wheel hub removed but want to get this axle out so I can replace the seal on this side as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best way is with a slide hammer. They pop out easily this way, other options have risk of damage. Borrow one from auto store. You will likely need to fabricate something to grab axle.
