POLL: How did you buy from FCP?

How did you buy from FCP? For posterity.

Why? We lost FCP as a sponsor
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Thanks in advance for voting! It gives me insight into ads, of course, and the value to potential advertisers of buying ad space here on MVS. It'll help me understand what the loss is:

(MVS users who buy from FCP) - (trackable MVS users who buy from FCP buying) = the number I'm after

If this is high, I can go to potential advertisers and say don't base your decision to buy an MVS ad entirely on the % you see in your reporting tool.

I voted bookmark. If they used clickthrough as there capture metric, add $3000 if business a year to the metric driven by their sponsorship here, please Jason.

Should allow multiple options. I had to click other. I have bought off a link in a post, off a banner, off a bookmark in my browser and by typing directly in the browser bar. But ALL of those purchases were made because of recommendations for FCP quality and service I heard here on MVS.

Ack I knew I was forgetting something. Let me try to edit it via database instead of forum interface, which would reset votes to 0.

Users are now able to choose multiple. My account is locked to what I voted. 850TurboTurtle, I'll add your 4 choices manually.

Matt -- I am guessing this thread arose from a discussion I had with Steve the other day. I have been an FCP customer for at least ten and probably more like 12-15 years. I have given them literally tens of thousands in business over the years.

I rarely, if ever purchased from FCP through a Matthew's link, but I found out about FCP through MVS and I always appreciated that FCP supported MVS. It was yet another reason to give FCP my business.

I have also told at least two foreign car owning co-workers about FCP and I know both have bought parts from FCP.

Three weeks ago at Harry's U Pull It in Allentown, Pa. I met a couple picking Volvo parts. They helped me with a tool as I helped them and I wrote both FCP and MVS's web addresses on the back of my business card and gave it to them.

So, I can trace at least two actual and one potential customer for FCP in addition to me, directly back to MVS. Let's make that three actual, since I am pretty sure I told my buddy Don about FCP.

When I learned of FCP's decision to stop sponsoring MVS, I wrote Nick and Scott a note on their customer service page. Haven't heard back yet, but I do wish they'd reconsider.

I have certainly purchased a great deal from FCP over the years, both for my Volvo, and my various BMW's. I, by habit, just type FCP into my address bar and go from there. Hell, I've been doing this so long that I typically type fcpgroton.com and go from there...

I'm sorry to hear that they are not supporting you, and I will certainly look to IPD going forward. I'll also try to click through as often as possible.
