Nice C70 runs great BUT occasionally it will flood on startup and die if I don’t rev it to clear it out. When it absolutely won’t start, if I disconnect the battery and turn the key to start it then reconnect the bat, starts right up. Recent Volvo plugs. 150k.

Thoughts?

Few more details, It will throw a pending code of p300 or something like that. Bottom line is its all cylinders missing, not one, so not stuck injector. If it doesn’t happen soon after depending goes away. But other times if it happens a couple times in a row and locks down in an engine code. I’m curious if these cars run in an open loop, and what sort of inputs are used in the open loop that might corrupt the starting mixture.

No need to disconnect the battery. Just floor the gas and that should shut off the injectors. Flooding at startup is usually a bad electronic coolant temp sensor.
