Something was seriously wrong with this XC70

Post by matthew1 »

Coming home this morning after dropping my son off at school, I noticed was alarmed at a P3 XC70 next to me with a spare that looked somehow very... off.

The camber was way way out. It wasn't wobbling: the wheel was apparently on the hub ok. It was just cambered way out. I'm guessing they hit a curb hard, popped the tire, and put the spare on with significant damage to the suspension.

Sort of looks like that rear tire is working hard and kicking up some dust.

It was idling, stopped at the light. Exhaust maybe...

Old topic, but still.. :-)
It could be, the spare part is simply smaller.
Since it would not touch the ground, because of the smaller size, the car is hanging over more the the front left. Putting more weight on the smaller wheel. Causing the suspension to lower even more, a lowered axis will have more camber.
