[S60 2.0T 2006] Oil leak near turbo
Hi guys!
I discovered oil leak near turbo (photos attached). Oil consumption increased while driving on highway (speed 80 mph and more). I added about 750 ml of oil after last trip - about 1000 miles.
What can I check first to detect the leak?
Volvo S60 2.0T, 2006
Oil: Motul 8100 ECO-NERGY 0W-30 A5/B5

Nope, it was 0W-30 all the time.
Last oil change - 2000 miles ago.
Additionally, I had a problem with clogged PCV system 6 months ago. PCV box and hoses are replaced.

Re: [S60 2.0T 2006] Oil leak near turbo
I think those two pictures are on different sides of the engine.
The turbo oil could just be residual from the PCV clog, wipe it off the turbo and see if it comes back
The other side looks like cam seal leaking down from top, exhaust side.

Re: [S60 2.0T 2006] Oil leak near turbo
Thanks abscate.
I cleaned up turbo and checked if leak still exist. No oil on turbo right now.
But...
Leak on the other side of engine appeared again. Two camshaft wheels where replaced (6 moths ago) because of PCV - they were leaking.
I removed plastic cover protecting timing belt. Probably you are right that it could be exhaust camshaft seal.
Is there a way to remove second plastic cover under timing belt without removing belt itself? I would like to check if leak is really behind camshaft wheel. I also thought, maybe head cover is leaking.

Automotive Tracer Dye. Most part stores carry some. If you dope more then one fluid, use a different color for each fluid.

Adrian, check the PCV pressure with a rubber glove on the oil filler. If the crankcase pressure is still high, the new seals will blow out and leak.

Re: [S60 2.0T 2006] Oil leak near turbo
I think it should pull vacuum, so thats not bad, but it isnt right, either.
Less than helpful, sorry.
Found it - should be -0.2 kPa on earlier P2s, but I think it carries over

Re: [S60 2.0T 2006] Oil leak near turbo
PCV is not good.
Also on turbo engines PCV has two contours: first one uses vacuum from intake manifold (when it has it), the other one routes to the fresh air pipe near the turbo. To check that one the car needs to be in drive (step on brakes), engine slightly revving to like 2500 RPMs. Glove shouldn't inflate.
