Valve body cover gasket replacement

While performing an oil change yesterday, I saw the bottom of the transmission had some slight weeping at the valve body cover. Has anyone successfully done this repair without having to remove the transmission.

It's my understanding that a gasket can be purchased to make things easier whereas Volvo used RTV. I believe the valve body cover gasket from a 2005 Nissan Maxima will work.
