Volvo's EPB compatibility with off the shelf Diagnostic tools

Post by tom39 »

I am currently planning to replace the rear brakes on my 2011 S80 3.2 that has an EPB.
In order to try and make the job a bit easier, I have been researching diagnostic tools and am considering the purchase of an Autel EBS301 to release and reset the EPB. The literature and user manual for the tool provide general information that indicates that it will work on a Volvo but provide no absolute answer that it will.
Before I go out and buy something that is going be a paperweight, has anyone used a Autel EBS301 or similar tool to release and reset the EPB on a S80?

Thank you,
Tom

The EPB can be manipulated in VIDA-DiCE which will cost you $60-$80 and is a much better tool for your 2011 S80 then a Autel.
