Brake Lights Not Working

I had this problem and looked at all the other forums, but did not see this fix. I did all the voltage checks to make sure power was getting to the tail light and brake lights. That was good. By chance, the metal piece that you plug the wires into for the brake and tail lights fell off. I noticed that it has a prong that plugs into the light assembly. I bent that prong enough, so it would stay in place once it was pushed back in. I reconnected the wires and the lights worked as they should. Easy fix. It's one more thing you can check before going to a dealer or repair person. I think it was a design flaw, as they should have made that connection hard wired to the light assembly. Hope this helps someone in the future.
