I'm not aware ECMs can be swaped. Coded to the car. However, everything can be programmed, maybe give Xemodex.com a message

I have swapped TCMs before and they worked just fine. I am SURE you can do it with an ECM but I am also sure you have to check so it's the same part# or "version" so the software works with your engine set up. I will wait more answers and also contact Xemodex, (They happen to be close by my folks place in Mississauga "eh!")

You have not swapped 1999- on ECMs without cloning them. They are married to the VIN in software

hmmm i just grabbed an ECM from another 2001 S60 at the junkers and installed it. car seemed to want to start but didn't. better than the original ECM in the car...... any ideas what may be causing this problem? I'm at the end of my rope here!

ok, put back the original ECM and now I have codes: ecm 3300-3310-3320-3330-3340 misfire codes? Signal missing it says..........I erased the codes, while engine running and they came right back................ grounds no good? I thought I tightened the bolts properly
