ignition timing and cam position

ignition timing and cam position

Replaced all components in the timing system,belt,tension, pulley wheel, and aligned the timing marks, all seems to be proper. The issue is that both cams were rotated (foolishly) while the belt was off. The question to be answered is has the ignition now been put out of sync with the valves? The engine can be rotated by hand with no interference.

If the crank was on the no-interference timing mark then the cams can be rotated without touching the pistons - that is what the crank mark is for.

The ignition timing will be set by the sensors on the cams and crank so once you get the cams back on themark, the timing will be all set too.
