Buy rear brake pins?

Post by Mr. Detail » Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:20 am

Heh guys. Does anyone have a link for someone that sells new rear brake pins you guys told me about?
I tried FCP and a couple of others but all they seem to sell is the clips. I will assume that I should replace
the pins also when changing out the pads.

For P80s it comes as a brake hardware kit -- clips and pins.

Whatever the pins are that get knocked out with a drift pin. I am new to this. I did not buy a kit.
I bought the pads separate.

Assuming you're talking about the pins that hold the anti-rattle spring, there's a set on FCP with the anti-rattle spring (x2) and the pins (x4). P/N is ATE-610088

Wait what is the car model?

The pins that you knock out with a hammer, I believe it is only for P80 and Volvo 240 etc.

The P2 rear brake does not have pins.

I think my car is a P2. It is a 2002 Volvo V70 Base. So if there are no pins then how do I loosen the calipers to get the old pads out?

2002 is a P2. It doesn't have the same rear brake pad arrangement as the P80, which is where the discussion of "pins" comes from, so you don't need the pins that hold the brake pads in because they don't exist on a P2. Sorry for the confusion. This is why it is important to state year and model in the title of your posts.

I think it's important to review the help that's already been presented. If you review the YouTube video shared by cn90, you will see how to unbolt the caliper at the 2:14 mark.

Sorry, E. Showell for not including my year and model. My bad.
Thank you "cn90" for that video. Perhaps then all I need is to purchase new "clips".
