Maintenance Overdue Message

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

What is the year and model? Below is the Owner's Manual Look Up. For most the lights on an 03 S80 they want you to visit the dealer: "The light will stay on for 2 minutes after start until reset by the servicing retailer."

Depends on model year, let me know which year and I can translate the Swedish instructions I have :). It is done without anything external, just pushing buttons in the car.

Hi Katten,

Mine is on. It's an 03 S80 T6 Elite. Please let me know if I can take care of this without the dealer. Thanks.

Try this, it was hard to understand since proceedure seems to be different between 02 and 03 cars. Hope this works, if not let me know!

- Turn key to Position 1
- Press and hold trip reset button
- Turn key to Position 2 within 2 seconds
- Keep the trip reset button pressed untill yellow triangle lights up in the dash.
- Then release it, audible signal will indicate service reminder reset.
- You must release trip reset button within 4 seconds after yellow triangle lights up. In case trip meter was allready reset when you started it might take 10-14 seconds before the yellow triangle lights up.

Maybe this helps too:

Step 1. Confirm that you have the trip computer in T-1 mode;

Step 2. Put the car key, and turn the ignition to position I ;

Step 3. Press and hold trip meter reset button until the trip meter reads “0.0”. Do not release trip meter reset button;

Step 4. With the trip meter reset button still pressed, turn the key to position “II”;

Step 5. When original trip mileage returns OR the orange warning light in the center of the dash flashes, release the trip meter reset button;

Step 6. Turn the car key to “off” position “0”.
