Front brake rotor size
Is there a way to tell the brake rotor size from the serial number. Apparently the s40 came in 3 different from rotor sizes..

From IPD it looks like the Manual T5's use the 320mm whereas others use the 300mm. They still suggest you measure to confirm.
Input your vehicle here
https://www.ipdusa.com/
Unfortunately they show the 278mm, 300mm and 320mm fit many of the same years and models. Try inputting your VIN and see what brakes come up.

If you are in a position to remove one of the wheels, you can often read the part number from the current rotor. Sometimes it's obscured by rust, depending upon where you live and drive. That can also take a bit of detective work if it's not a Volvo rotor, as you have to figure out who the manufacturer was, as it will be their part number on there. Still, sometimes entering "Volvo ######" into Google yields effective results. That or going to your favorite aftermarket parts supplier (fcp, eEuroparts) and looking through what they have available might help match the number to a manufacturer, and thus to a size. I did this recently on my V70 and learned I have Bosch Quietcast rotors on there. YMMV. Good luck!

Hmmm, I'm trying to search with my VIN and it's not populating any information on the The Autobarn Volvo Cars Oak Park website. My email to FCP also produced no information...
Has this ever happened to anyone? Why does the S40 have three different rotor sizes!
