Wiring harness doohicky in spare wheel space

Post by CIK7 » Mon Aug 12, 2019 6:14 pm

I did search Google and YT for this before posting this.
On my 01 v70, in the trunk, right inside the spare place closest to the rear bumper, there is a wiring harness. Reason I'm questioning is because I've been trying to figure out if that is part of the wiring for hitch and also because I want to install a hitch. But the hitch wire install video doesn't involvo this harness at all. What is it for?

Volvo prewires alot of stuff. One thing I like about them. Could be for rear CD Player or for the navigation system. I've seen both of them in the junkyard. After 18 years (2001) someone might have moved it out of it's intended location. But it could be for the hitch...

Towing package pre-wiring. 99% sure of that, but man that 1% sure makes me doubt myself sometimes.
