2nd row 12v wiring and cargo auxilary 12v install

Post by CIK7 »

On my 01 v70, the 12v socket wiring is inconsistent in terms of wiring colors and more. First of all the one in center console (front and 2nd row) are both wired to the dashboard fusebox. The front has purple and black wires. The 2nd row has a purple and black, but also a yellow wire (pictured) that joins the purple one. I do understand the power/gr colors. But would the yellow one be for the ignition to turn on to power that outlet? Please let me know because if so, want to cut it so it will stay on.
Side note/question: i want to install a killswitch on my car. I have searched the forums for it. Nothing. I would like to know how to do this and if anyone else has done this. Do i need to create a new forum topic or complete it here?

I have the optional 12V cargo outlet. It's always on regardless of key ignition. The front seat and 2nd row 12V outlets are only functional with ignition key on.

Yes, there is a 15A fuse in slot #7. See photo.
