Okay running Volvo 2003 XC 90 on two-wheel drive until AWD repaired?

A mid-size luxury crossover SUV, the Volvo XC90 made its debut in 2002 at the Detroit Motor Show. Recognized for its safety, practicality, and comfort, the XC90 is a popular vehicle around the world. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America). P2 platform.

2003 Volvo XC 90 AWD transfer box and gears & front section of drivetrain trashed on trip. Removed AWD bevel gear (interfaces with angle gear inside) and drive shaft which turns wheels for AWD. It will be a while before I can get transfer case and new drive shaft. Any risk to vehicle/tranny/front-wheel drive running on just two-wheel drive? Vehicle is not driven much anyway and AWD as a component is not essential.
