pwr steering pump/serp belt

Good day.just replaced pwr steering pump cause it seized n threw the serp belt off.then i noticed big hole in hose as it was positioned near pulleys.no wonder reservoir wouldn't hold fluid.so i think i fixed those things but soon as i tried starting car it barely started like it wasn't getting gas.funny thing is theres a strong smell of gas outside car soon as it starts.also all of sudden my temp guage stopped working stuck on cold.but fan is definitely running.its almost got 300,000 n totaled 3 yrs ago.but its done me right over yrs.why the hard start,smell of gas, fan running,and no temp guage soon as i replace steering pump n belt ? Thnk u for ur time.
