2006 xc70 - cold air coming out under the steering column

Post by NHVTVOLVO »

Hi Everyone,

temps are dropping here in Vermont, my heat is working great in all vents & floor.

highway drive this morning, i noticed cool air that seemed to be leaking underneath the steering column. needless to say my legs & knees were cold in a few minutes and i had the heat turned up quite a bit to stay warm.

Has anyone had this issue, or can recommend what to check out for fix?

Trying to tackle this prior temps dropping further.

thank you.

I am not familiar with details of 2006 XC70, but I would start by removing the bottom of the dash cover and getting down under there to take a look. Perhaps a seal around the steering column has come loose?
