Help identifying the flexible aluminum tubing at the bottom (Pre heat exhaust hose?) and the part the wine cork has replaced

Yes, the corrugated hose I believe is to bring warm air into the intake when starting cold. You can see where it attaches to the manifold shielding. It's not critical but it is handy. It helps with emissions.
The cork could be an unused A/C connection (is the A/C functioning?) or an automatic transmission cooler line (is the transmission acting normally?).
Or...you have no coolant in your system and you're in trouble....
